# Hotel Wi-Fi login page will not open

A guest network may require browser sign-in before it supplies ordinary internet access. Ask the venue for its network name and current sign-in procedure.

A guest network may require browser sign-in before it supplies ordinary internet access. Complete that access step before troubleshooting the VPN. Confirm the correct network and instructions with the venue rather than choosing a similarly named network.

## Work through the checks

1. Ask the venue for its network name and current sign-in procedure. Check that you joined that network.
2. Disconnect the VPN temporarily while you establish guest access. Open the venue’s instructed login page or the sign-in notification provided by your device.
3. Read the access terms and complete the legitimate sign-in step. Do not install an unfamiliar certificate or unrelated application just to dismiss a browser warning.
4. Open a familiar HTTPS website to confirm ordinary access. A successful Wi-Fi connection icon alone is not that check.
5. Reconnect the VPN and repeat your task. If the access page returns later, the guest session may need attention; ask the venue about its session rules.

## Read the result

| What you observe | Next step |
| --- | --- |
| No sign-in page and no ordinary internet | Ask the venue for the current access route. |
| Internet works after guest sign-in | Then test the VPN as a separate step. |
| Browser warns about the certificate | Stop before entering credentials and verify the address. |

## Make the comparison useful

Keep “joined Wi-Fi,” “finished guest sign-in” and “connected VPN” as three separate observations. A report that says which of those succeeded narrows the investigation considerably.

## Before changing more settings

A venue providing Wi-Fi has not necessarily authorized bandwidth sharing. Check its rules before participating in Zenshield’s free-access exchange on that connection.
