For remote work, start with your employer’s required connection and device rules. A personal VPN and a company remote-access VPN can solve different problems.

Access and privacy are different jobs

A company VPN may be required to reach internal applications. A personal VPN usually provides a route to the public internet. Installing a personal VPN does not grant access to your company’s private systems.

Before combining two VPNs, ask whether the organisation supports that setup. Routing and DNS rules can conflict, and troubleshooting becomes harder if neither provider expects the second connection.

Prepare before a call or work session

Finish the venue’s Wi-Fi sign-in, confirm ordinary internet access and connect using your organisation’s instructions. Test the work application before a scheduled meeting. Keep an approved backup connection available if the task is time-sensitive.

Use a headset and a private space when the conversation is confidential. Network encryption does not stop people nearby seeing your screen or hearing the call.

For personal work on your own device

Zenshield is available for Windows and Android. Check its sharing explanation and use only a network where you are permitted to participate. Do not opt a company-managed connection into bandwidth sharing without permission.

If a call stutters, record whether the problem affects sound, video or the entire connection. Our video-call troubleshooting helps separate application and network symptoms.

A sensible work setup combines approved access, updated software, strong account protection and a reliable connection. A VPN is one part of that setup, not a substitute for the rest.
