VALORANT regions and connection problems

Changing a network connection and changing a VALORANT account's region are different tasks. Before trying a VPN, decide whether you cannot sign in, cannot join friends, cannot select the place you want to play, or can play but have a poor connection.
If you have moved to another country
Use Riot's official account support and its region-of-residence guidance. Sign in through Riot's own website, describe the move and check the options offered for your account. Do not assume that an IP address change updates your account's eligibility, purchases or matchmaking region.
Save the support reference and the account information Riot asks you to verify. Never give a VPN seller your Riot password or recovery codes to arrange a region change. If instructions conflict, ask Riot which process applies to your account before making another change.
If you cannot connect at all
Record the full error code and the time it appeared. Check whether Riot reports a service problem and whether another ordinary website works. Restart the client before altering system settings. If the device belongs to a school or employer, ask its administrator about permitted gaming access.
Use this short report when asking for help:
- Platform and operating system.
- Sign-in or match stage where the problem occurs.
- Exact error text, without account secrets.
- Whether the same problem occurs on another permitted network.
- Whether a VPN was running during each test.
If the problem is delay during a match
Compare like with like. Keep the same device and network, close avoidable background transfers and record several observations rather than one unusually good result. Distinguish network delay from poor frame rate. Adding a VPN route can change the path your traffic takes, but that alone is not evidence of an improvement.
If you already use a VPN, an on/off comparison on a trusted network can help isolate the issue. Do not change several settings between tests. Share the difference with support rather than concluding that the game has blocked your entire country.
