Does downloading start bandwidth sharing?

No. You review the terms and agree inside the app before sharing starts. Sharing is required for free VPN access. Downloading the file is not your consent.

How much bandwidth does sharing use?

The amount varies with network demand and your device. There’s no fixed cap. Technical controls are designed to reduce disruption, but sharing can affect data use, battery and connection performance. Your internet provider’s charges still apply.

How do I stop sharing?

Fully exit or uninstall the app, or use a stop-sharing setting if your version supports one. Just switching the VPN off or minimizing the app may leave sharing running.
