A VPN can change the public IP a website receives. It does not automatically remove location permission you previously gave the website, or change the address saved in your account.
Identify the source of the location
An approximate city inferred from an IP is different from device location shared through a browser permission. A delivery site may also use your saved delivery address or the region selected in the account.
Start by asking what is displayed. A map pin close to your building deserves a permission check. A broad country label may reflect an account preference, the IP database or the website’s own rules.
Review a site’s permission
In Chrome, open Settings, then Privacy and security, Site settings and Location. Review the individual site as well as the default choice. Remove permission if the site no longer needs it. Operating-system location controls can also affect browser access.
Reload the website after changing permission. Some useful features, such as finding a nearby store, may then ask for a town or postcode instead. Give only the detail needed for the task.
Compare the public address separately
Use the IP tool to see the address and approximate location reported for that request. The Zenshield website does not request precise device location for its connection bar.
If the public IP changes but an account still shows your town, that is not evidence that the website obtained the address through the VPN tunnel. Review saved profile information and location consent.
On a managed device, an administrator may control these settings. For an unexpected VPN exit label, use IP location mismatch troubleshooting rather than disabling all browser permissions.
