An encrypted connection. A different IP. No VPN subscription.
Free access requires bandwidth sharing. How it works

A free VPN does not replace an internet plan. Here is what to check on the connection you use in Germany.
Connection troubleshootingA German mobile plan with a large or unlimited domestic allowance can have a different allowance for EU roaming. Bundesnetzagentur explains this distinction. If you take Zenshield abroad, check the actual roaming allowance before enabling bandwidth sharing on that connection.

Using a VPN while you are in Germany and choosing a VPN exit there are different things. We have not published verified Zenshield exit locations for Germany. Check the current location choices in the app before relying on a specific IP location.
Apps for Windows and Android
Zenshield is free because you share part of your internet connection with Geonode’s network. Its customers’ requests travel through your public IP.
Sharing is required for free access. You agree in the app before it starts.
Sharing does not give network customers remote access to your device, files, photos or messages.
Usage varies, with no fixed bandwidth cap. Data charges, battery and performance effects may apply.
To stop sharing, fully exit the app. Uninstalling also stops it. Disconnecting the VPN or minimizing the app may leave sharing running. Sharing may restart when the app opens again.
Get the Windows app or Android APK. Downloading alone doesn’t start sharing.
DownloadsCreate or sign in to your account in the app. Review the bandwidth exchange before you agree.
Read the exchangeTurn on the VPN in the app. VPN and sharing run separately, so switching the VPN off may leave sharing on.
Connection troubleshootingZenshield does not charge a subscription. Free access requires opt-in bandwidth sharing, and your internet provider’s data charges still apply. App access and network rules can vary, so check the connection you intend to use.
We have not confirmed which Zenshield server locations are available in Germany. Check the app’s available locations before depending on a local IP address.
The available downloads are Windows and Android. We are not offering an iOS, macOS or Linux download here.
Install the app, sign in or create an account, then read the sharing terms during onboarding. Consent is required before participation. Use the Windows instructions or Android instructions for help.
No. A VPN uses an existing internet connection. Downloading, VPN use and opt-in bandwidth sharing can use your data allowance. Check your plan before participating on mobile data or roaming.
Get the Windows app or Android APK. Downloading alone doesn’t start sharing.
