After a laptop wakes, first establish whether Windows has rejoined a working network. The VPN can only reconnect over the access that is actually available. Keep the wake-up event separate from an installation or account problem.

Work through the checks

  1. Check the current network name. A laptop may have moved between a dock, home Wi-Fi and a guest network since the previous session.
  2. With the VPN disconnected, try a familiar website. If the guest network asks for browser sign-in, finish that before testing the VPN.
  3. Open Zenshield and inspect its current state. Do not assume the state shown before sleep still describes the connection now.
  4. If normal browsing works, reconnect once using the app’s current controls. Try the same ordinary task that worked before sleep.
  5. Note whether the issue repeats after another normal sleep-and-wake cycle. Avoid changing power settings, drivers and VPN options together.

Make the comparison useful

A useful report says: “Home Wi-Fi worked before sleep. After waking at 08:10, browsing worked with the VPN disconnected, but reconnecting stayed on the same screen.” That observation identifies the sequence without guessing at the cause.

Before changing more settings

If reopening the app does not help, send the network name type, Windows version and repeatable sequence to support. Do not repeatedly reinstall a working installation to investigate a wake-up problem.

Use the support-request template if you need to send the result. The reference guidance explains the underlying network or platform behavior; exact Zenshield controls depend on the installed app version.
